Courage California, formerly known as Courage Campaign, endorses Esmeralda Soria for Congress, demonstrating their trust in her ability to bring progressive, equitable, and representative ideals to combat some of the most complex problems that our state and country are currently facing.
FRESNO, C.A. – Courage California, formerly known as Courage Campaign, endorses Esmeralda Soria for Congress. Courage California is driven by over 1.4 million members and a network of over 300 partner organizations whose purpose is to call out institutional corruption and oppression while also demanding that local, state, and federal representatives are held accountable and are reflective of the Californians they serve.
“Councilmember Soria is challenging incumbent Jim Costa, who is the definition of a corporate Democrat, exemplifying the corruption that has undermined the Democratic Party in recent years,” says Courage California. “He has voted with President Trump more than almost any other Democrat in Congress and consistently opposed progressive priorities — siding with corporate lobbyists and failing his constituents on immigration, the environment, and many other issues.”
Courage California has been at the frontlines in working to achieve race, gender, and economic equality. This endorsement is a reflection of what the people of Congressional District 16 need in a Federal representative, one that understands the issues and who is willing to stand up for what is right no matter the circumstance.
“I am honored to have received the endorsement of Courage California. It is progressive movements like these that help us move forward on issues that have plagued our communities for decades. We must have a forward vision if we want to achieve social justice and address climate change before it’s too late,” said Esmeralda Soria.
Esmeralda Soria is currently running for Congress in Congressional District 16, which covers Fresno, Madera and Merced County. She is on the Fresno City Council where she represents District 1. Esmeralda is fighting for health care for all, college affordability and campaign finance reform.
